We Build Trust Through Collaboration

Collaboration is a very important part of growth for any organization. At Arc Aspicio, we have seen the benefits that collaboration produces. The biggest one is building trust among our teams and clients.

One of our largest projects at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) created several ways to accelerate collaboration between Tiger Teams, Working Groups, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the company. It allows us to predict gaps and risks that could impact our work, share them, and build solutions and paths to prevent issues from coming to fruition. As a member of the Tiger Teams and the Working Groups, I have personally seen the growth in trust. Our clients have come to trust our creative process because we work with them to deliver high-level work products and solutions that succeed in their environment.

One of my Tiger Teams is the Process Improvement Working Group. Its purpose was to prepare for an organizational transformation that redefined the way a very large team worked. We needed to pull together SMEs from all parts of the team to standardize and capture our important work processes to make sure we did not lose any information during the change. Now that we have successfully achieved a post-transformation state, this working group continues to operate. We proactively identify, analyze, and improve upon existing processes within the unit. We optimize work processes to excel standards of quality and to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the work we do.

In the beginning, we had only planned to use this working group to improve our own process as consultants. However, after our unit transformed, our clients noticed how well we developed and documented our processes and appreciated how well we mitigated risk. As a result, our clients have asked us to support them in documenting the client’s own procedures.

This is what trust looks like: our client entrusting us to accurately document high-level processes in our templates because they have seen it work. In doing this, we have been able to further collaborate with our clients to improve processes within our unit across the board.

The relationship that we built with our client led to a highly collaborative culture where we consistently optimize our work and standardize it across our clients and our team. Moving forward, this strong relationship leads us to present new ideas and support the client in a meaningful way, improving efficiency and effectiveness. And, most importantly, improving mission results.

The Link Between Innovation and Collaboration

The Link Between Innovation and Collaboration

Intentional collaboration can be the difference between simply completing a task and using innovative ideas to drive long-lasting change. When people come together to share their insights and perspectives, Government agencies can thrive and instill a culture where leaders engage with and listen to employees.
