Arc Aspicio Fully Offsets Its Carbon Emissions for 2025
Arlington, VA, June 26, 2025 — Arc Aspicio offset its 2025 carbon emissions with a donation to the non-profit Cool Effect aligned to the company’s commitment to sustainability. The donation is a part of the company’s Social and Environmental Management System (SEMS) which has been in place since 2011 and identifies all the methods the company uses to promote sustainability.
Company employees had a choice of organizations to support and chose Cool Effect. The specific project is Cool Effect’s “A Bearadise,” which focuses on regrowing and conserving formerly logged land in Alaska. The goal is to preserve the old-growth forests in the area, which will reduce around 1.5 million metric tons of carbon over the next 30 years.
“At Arc Aspicio, acting as an environmentally friendly business is part of our DNA, and offsetting our greenhouse gas emissions is a logical next step,” said Harry Oppenheim, the company’s business operations executive responsible for SEMS. “The whole company participated in the decision to select Cool Effect after vetting multiple U.S.-based projects.”
This year is the second in a row that Arc Aspicio has donated to Cool Effect to offset carbon emissions. The company calculates its greenhouse gas emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Reporting Standard, enabling the company to be aware of its impact on the environment so that it can effectively combat it.
In total, the company produces around five metric tons of greenhouse gases every year using the Equity Organization Boundary Approach, in line with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency greenhouse gas inventory guidance due to the company’s purchase of electricity for routine operations. With Arc Aspicio’s donation, the company exhibits its commitment to maintaining its carbon neutral status and shows how a focus on the health of the environment is engrained into the company’s policies.
